Advice from a seasoned developer
A second opinion on a quote or codebase, a functional or technical design, or a sounding board for your team. From a developer with over fifteen years of experience who still builds every week.

Second opinion and advice
Advice is worth most while a decision can still be steered: before you sign a quote, when a project is not running smoothly, or at the moment a team chooses a technical direction. I review the quote, the plan or the code and put on paper what holds up, what is missing and what a sensible next step would be. Written for whoever has to decide, and usable with any agency.
The advice is separate from any follow-up work. You can take it to your own agency or team, and if you want me to build it or keep an eye on things, I can do that too.
Technical design and a sounding board
A functional or technical design sets out what will be built before development starts, even if someone else carries it out afterwards. It lets you compare quotes on the same basis, and you know what you are getting.
Development teams bring me in to help think through architecture, performance and the approach to a tricky part. Training on your own site or codebase is also an option.
When to bring me in
For a decision, for a project, and for teams.
You want certainty about a quote or plan
It is a sizeable investment and you want to know whether the amount, the timeline and the chosen technology are right. After my review, you know where you stand.
Your project needs a fresh pair of eyes
Delivery keeps slipping or the result is disappointing. I look at the code and the process and show what it takes to move forward.
Your team needs a sounding board
Your developers face a technical choice, or are stuck on performance, architecture or an integration. I take a look and help think it through, as a one-off or at regular intervals.

Looking for a developer you can rely on for years? I’m Mark.
I develop websites, webshops and applications in WordPress and Laravel, and have since 2011, for clients including the University of Twente, Giro555 and iCulture. Most clients have worked with me for years.
Tell me what you want to achieve, and you’ll hear from me personally what I would do. Even if you don’t know yet exactly what you need.
